Job openings in the OVD
Lead Pastor Position
Connexion Church is located in Bowling Green—a diverse city in south central Kentucky, with a population of 73,000 (and growing). Our church is situated on the southside of the city, nestled inside a neighborhood that has a great need for the gospel.
Our church has faced several challenges over the years; however, the church is now in an upward trajectory. Our average Sunday attendance is around 25 people (counting a few children), with a great potential for growth. We also have a vibrant outreach to internationals in the community who come from places like China, Afghanistan, Iran, and the continent of Africa. In addition to all this, we have opened our building and resources to a partner Spanish church, which plans to become part of The Alliance. Our current pastor has partnered well with this congregation and he also leads their youth group.
In April/May 2024, our current pastor will begin transitioning to overseas ministry with The Alliance, so we now find ourselves in a season of change. We are in search of a pastor who:
- Can help the church continue to move forward in its next season of ministry and growth.
- Has strong biblical preaching abilities.
- Can develop and further progress mentoring relationships (currently, our church has one volunteer staff assistant pastor and newer believers).
- Has a burden for the lost and expresses that personally and corporately through outreach.
- Has a heart for international ministry.
Candidates are required to have a bachelor’s degree (ministry-related is a plus). Candidates with previous experience as a pastor and licensure with the Alliance are preferred. However, anyone is welcome to apply. Non-Alliance applicants will be required to meet the licensing requirements of our denomination.

Senior High Youth Pastor
A Spirit-led, dynamic, growing church (currently greeting and serving over 1000 people on Sunday mornings) in Central Kentucky is seeking a pastor for our high school ministries. We are looking for someone with a proven track record of discipling youth into relationships with Jesus and decision-making that brings Him glory.
Pastoral experience in a large church (1000+) is preferred. Pastoral experience in the Alliance is also preferred. Licensing with the Alliance will be required.
Ministry Description: This person serves the body of Christ by facilitating the discipleship of high school students, both those who already attend the church and those who are currently unreached.
Sunday Youth Service
Give primary leadership to Sunday youth service (teaching most weeks)
Oversee youth worship and those who are leading those teams
Craft sermon series that fit into and touch on all of the church’s core values
Wednesday LIFE Groups
Give primary leadership to Wednesday LIFE groups
Support and resource LIFE group leaders
Provide training for LIFE group leaders
Help lead a small group (if needed)
Special Events
Give primary leadership to special events (retreats, outings, game nights, etc.)
Work with small group leaders to help facilitate special events
Discipleship and Outreach
Remain actively engaged in the life of students outside formal church ministry and settings.
Resource parents to effectively train and equip their students.
Provide opportunities to reach out to unchurched students.
Ministry Development / Process Improvement / Professional Development
Identify direction for ministry development
Participate in strategic planning process

Create and manage the high school ministry budget
